  • Suzanne Lafauce, LCPC

Hello, I am Suzanne LaFauce, a licensed therapist with a passion for helping individuals navigate life’s challenges.  I believe that everyone has the capacity to live a fulfilling and meaningful life, but sometimes we can get stuck in patterns of thinking that hold us back.

My philosophy is represented in Steve Marboli’s statement:

“The power to change your life lies in the simplest of steps.”

As someone seeking to transform your life, some questions you may have are:

    • What is stopping me from living a fulfilled and balanced life?

    • What is my value/worth?

    • Am I on the right path?

    • Why do I feel anxious for no reason?

    • Why is it difficult for me to adapt to change?

As a therapist, I believe in the power of human connection and the ability of individuals to heal and grow.  I use an integrative approach to therapy, combining elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and psychodynamic therapy to help clients gain insight into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.  I strongly believe in facilitating a positive environment to empower clients to add tools to their emotional toolbox. My goal is to provide a safe, genuine, and empathic environment, collaborating with the client to facilitate meaningful positive change. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and use a holistic approach to therapy.

    About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland and Vermont.  My educational background includes an undergraduate degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Northern Illinois University and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from Texas Tech University.

Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of settings, including private group practice, community mental health clinics, and hospitals.  I have experience working with individuals and couples, helping them overcome challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues.

While not working, I enjoy biking and hiking outdoors, mindful coloring, reading mystery novels, and spending time with family and friends.

If you are looking for a therapist who can help you navigate life’s challenges, I would be honored to work with you.  Please call me or email me to schedule an appointment at 240-489-1108 or [email protected]
