Brianna Shuman, LGMFT
Hello! I am Brianna. I am a Marriage and Family Therapist. I obtained my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy at Capella University. I have a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Shepherd University, where I worked closely with the LGBTQ+ community and discovered a passion for helping others help themselves.
In 2015, I worked at the Jefferson County Youth Reporting Center with at-risk youth on probation. During this time, I worked closely with numerous counselors to help the students and their families overcome challenges and build the skills that would help them succeed. This ignited my passion for working with couples and families.
Utilizing a person-centered, strengths-based approach allows me to help clients find the solutions that work best for them. I believe that each person is unique and capable of creating an environment where they can thrive.
I work with adults looking to work through and resolve problems to build a happy, healthy, and balanced life. Some areas of interest include anxiety, depression, relationships, sexuality, life transitions, and career changes. I enjoy working with a diverse group of clients coming from many different backgrounds. I provide sex-positive, kink-friendly, and LGBTQ+-affirming services.
