  • Hannah Vickery, LGPC

Hi! I am Hannah Vickery and I am a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor in Maryland under the supervision of Ingrid Ponciano, LCMFT. I earned my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Hood College. I also earned a certificate in Thanatology, which is the study of death and dying.

I earned my B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Educational Studies from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2019. I completed my thesis on interventions for grieving children and have been interested in working with individuals struggling with grief ever since.

At Hood, I was able to take several courses on grief and worked with several clients on this topic. I completed my internship at Playful Therapy Connections and worked with many children, adolescents, and parents. I worked with clients to help them navigate autistic experiences, anxiety, ADHD, anger, and grief.

Using a client-centered approach, I was able to empower my clients and see their confidence grow through play therapy. I also worked with young adults at the Neighborhood Counseling Training Center, where I worked with individuals navigating anxiety, OCD, depression, and grief.

In therapy, I use the Cognitive-Behavioral model to help individuals overcome obstacles in their lives. I strive to help clients challenge their anxious or depressive thoughts and discover coping strategies that work for them. I also utilize other techniques, such as motivational interviewing and mindfulness. I am passionate about working with young adults and adults and have experience working with clients on anxiety, depression, stress, OCD, and grief.
